Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — name, email, profile picture, and authentication identifiers when you sign up or sign in (including via Google).
• Content you create — quizzes, collections, events, comments, ratings, and reviews.
• Usage data — quizzes you play, scores, XP, streaks, accuracy, and performance history.
• Device and log data — IP address, browser type, device model, operating system, and pages or screens viewed.
• Payment data — when you subscribe to Premium or pay an entry fee, our payment processor handles your card or bank details. We never store full card numbers on our servers.

• To run, secure, and improve the Service.
• To personalize your experience — recommendations, statistics, leaderboards, and ranking tiers.
• To process payments and prevent fraud.
• To communicate with you about your account, support requests, or important changes.
• To enforce our Terms and detect abuse or cheating.
• To show advertising on the free tier of the Service (see below).

On the website, we use cookies, local storage, and device identifiers to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, measure how the Service is used, and serve advertising. You can control cookies in your browser settings, but disabling them may break parts of the Service (such as staying logged in).

In our Android and iOS apps, we use the equivalent platform mechanisms — local storage, the Android Advertising ID (AAID), and the iOS Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) — for the same purposes. On iOS 14.5 and later, the system shows you an App Tracking Transparency prompt the first time we use the IDFA; you can deny or revoke this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, you can reset or opt out of personalized advertising in Settings → Google → Ads.

We display ads on the free tier of QuizzyApp using two Google services: Google AdSense on the website (quizzyapp.net) and Google AdMob in our Android and iOS apps. Premium subscribers and admins do not see ads on either platform. The mobile apps show three ad formats — banner, interstitial (full-screen between activities), and native (inline within content feeds). Ads never appear during active quiz or competition gameplay.

• Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (web) and the AAID/IDFA advertising identifiers (mobile) to serve ads. Google's use of these identifiers enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to QuizzyApp and other sites or apps.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising across Google services at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• On iOS, you can deny tracking when prompted by the system or at any time via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, you can reset or opt out of the Advertising ID via Settings → Google → Ads.
• You can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising on the web at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.com (EU).

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we display a consent message (provided by Google's certified Consent Management Platform — UMP on mobile, a cookie banner on the web) before personalized ads or measurement identifiers are set. You can update your consent at any time using the “Manage privacy options” link on the website, or by clearing app data and relaunching the mobile app to be re-prompted.

We rely on a small number of trusted third parties to operate the Service:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and storage.
• Google AdSense, Google AdMob, and Google Analytics — web advertising (AdSense), in-app advertising on Android and iOS (AdMob), and traffic analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — application hosting and edge networking.
• Payment processors — to handle subscription billing and entry-fee transactions. Each processor maintains its own privacy policy.

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.

Depending on where you live (e.g., the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at iezediba@gmail.com.

Residents of California: under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information.

QuizzyApp is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and access controls — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable additional protections on your Google account.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the page and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by email.
