Progress: XP, streaks, leaderboards and weak topics

Four things in QuizzyApp keep score of you rather than of a single quiz. Two of them — XP and streaks — are about showing up; the other two — leaderboards and weak topics — are about where you stand and what to do next. This guide explains how each is calculated, so you know exactly what moves them.

XP

XP is the long-run measure of how much you have learned on the platform. It only ever goes up, and it is earned like this:

Two things are deliberately not in that table. Speed never changes XP — an author's speed scoring alters the displayed percentage and nothing else — and neither do Revision or Preview attempts, sharing a quiz, or rating one. XP rewards retrieval, not activity.

Streaks and the daily challenge

Your streak is the number of consecutive days on which you finished at least one quiz. Any Quiz-mode attempt keeps it alive, but the daily challenge is the easiest way: one short set, the same for everyone, new every day, taking about two minutes. Home shows the current streak and your longest ever.

Miss a day and the streak resets to zero — there are no freezes. If you want help not missing one, Nudges & Reminders lets you set a daily reminder at a time of your choosing.

Leaderboards

The main leaderboard has three views. All Time ranks players by total XP. Weekly and Monthly rank by activity inside that window: every attempt you finish counts 5, and every attempt you score above 80% on counts 3 more — so consistency and quality both move you up, and a strong month from a newcomer can outrank a veteran who has gone quiet. Your own rank is shown at the top whichever view you are on. Beyond that:

• Every quiz has its own leaderboard of best attempts.
• Every competition has a live leaderboard during the event and a final one afterwards.
• Collections have a leaderboard across their quizzes.
• Study circles have weekly standings, and circle leagues rank circles against each other.

If you would rather not appear by name, switch on Anonymous on leaderboards in Settings. You keep your rank; other people see it without your username.

Weak topics

This is the part of the app that decides what you should do next.

Every question in a quiz can be tagged with a topic by its author (falling back to the quiz's own topic). When you finish a Quiz-mode attempt, your accuracy is updated per topic — not per quiz — so after a handful of attempts the app has a picture of where you are strong and where you keep losing marks, across every quiz you have played.

A topic becomes a weak topic once you have at least three attempts in it and your accuracy there is below 60%. Those surface on Home. Open one and you get its drill quizzes: public quizzes tagged with that topic, so you can practise exactly the thing you are getting wrong rather than replaying a whole paper for the three questions that matter. Once your accuracy in the topic climbs back above 60%, it leaves the list.

Two practical consequences:

• Quizzes whose authors tagged topics teach the app more about you than untagged ones. If you write quizzes, tag them.
• Revision and Preview attempts do not update topic accuracy. If you want the app to learn from an attempt, play it in Quiz mode.

Premium adds an AI layer on top: a study plan built from your weak topics, and quiz recommendations chosen because they cover the things you keep missing.

Your statistics

The profile page in the Hub shows the aggregate: total plays, average score, competition win rate, XP and streaks, plus your play history — every finished attempt with its score and date, and any attempt you left partway with a button to resume it. Tapping a finished attempt reopens its result sheet, and from there the review.
